Does the AI receptionist tell callers it is an AI?

Yes. On the first turn the AI says it is an automated assistant and names your business. The notice is on by default and is locked on in the EU, in Portugal and for health care in Utah. Elsewhere you may switch it off for incoming calls after accepting responsibility, and the choice is recorded. Voice agents we build always disclose. We do not sell outbound calling today, and the notice can never be switched off on an outbound call.

What callers hear

A customer dials your number and your carrier passes the call to us. The AI says it is an automated assistant and names your business, answers what you taught it, and passes the caller to a person on request. If nobody can take the call, it takes a message and never hangs up on the caller.

When the notice is locked on

In the EU, in Portugal and for health care in Utah the notice cannot be switched off. Everywhere else it is on by default.

When you can turn it off

Outside those places, an owner may switch the notice off for incoming calls after an acknowledgement, and the choice is recorded in the audit log. It cannot be switched off for outbound calls.

Recording and transcription

Feerasta does not record call audio. You get a written record and a plain summary. Where the law may require every party's consent, a transcription notice is added.
