Is AI bookkeeping safe?
It is safe when the AI drafts and a person decides. Feerasta Ledger reads your invoices and receipts, flags problems before you pay, and drafts reminders, but nothing is sent without your say-so. It works with your accountant, not instead of them, and we do not file your taxes or sign off on your books.
What to ask any AI bookkeeping vendor
- Who approves before anything is sent, paid or filed?
- Where is my data hosted, and who else can see it?
- Can I export everything, and can I delete it?
- Does it replace my accountant, and does it say so?
How Ledger answers
- Approval: a draft is written, a person on your team decides, and four gates stand before anything is sent. Overdue reminders are drafted and you approve them.
- Checking: supplier invoices are checked against past prices you give us, and anything that looks off is flagged before you pay.
- Hosting: your data is hosted in Germany (EU). The third parties we use are listed on the subprocessors page.
- Control: your data exports at any time, and you can delete it when you choose, with a 30-day window.
- Accountant: Ledger does the daily bookkeeping busywork so your accountant opens clean books.
Limits we state plainly
Ledger is not an accountant. It does not file taxes or sign off on your books. Statements are uploaded, and live bank feeds are not offered in Relate Ledger today.
More on how we handle data is on the security page.
